Our Horses E-mail

One of the driving factors in our decision to move to a rural area was our desire to own some horses.  Being around our horses and going riding is alot of fun and something we enjoy doing as often as possible.  When we're with the horses - be it grooming them, riding them - or just hanging out with them - life seems simple.  We don't worry about the future, fret about the past - we live in the present, and really enjoy each and every moment we spend with them.

Here is a quote from author Carolyn Banks that we completely relate to...

"Just hanging out near the horses made me feel a hundred percent better.  And you know why?

Because sometimes just being around a horse can make the doom and gloom you are feeling go away.

If you have horses, you know exactly what I mean.  It's as though they exude something, like ... natural Prozac, maybe.  The act of running a currycomb around and around realeases a serotonin-like substance that we inhale.

And I don't care of this isn't scientifically proven.  I don't care, because it's true"
