Lucky was not our whole life, but she made our lives whole. We miss her terribly. Lucky was our best friend and she was loved by all of us. Lucky had an especially close bond with Tera - who was 6 years old when we adopted one-year old Lucky from the Winnipeg Humane Society in 1995. We named her Lucky because we figured she was lucky that we adopted her, lucky that we saved her. The reality is that we were the lucky ones because Lucky brought so much joy and happiness into our lives - it really is impossible to describe. We can't count the number of times she made us laugh and smile over the thirteen years that we were blessed to have her with us. And on those occasions when any of us were feeling down, she was always there - to listen to us - and comfort us. In many ways, she saved us. Goodbye baby girl, we will always love you and you will always be in our hearts.
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together. Author unknown
